  • Ten Months

I saw on a news story today that Israel had decided to halt most of its settlement process for a whole ten months. I watched as officials from the White House and the State Department hailed the measure. Yet, I am confused. Why only ten months? Shouldn't the Israeli's be halting all settlement activity forever? Palestinians are expected to control their native population and work to halt all attacks on Israel forever, not just for ten months.

And yet there are still many who blindly support whatever Israel does in the Middle East. So many have missed the message of the Holocaust. It was not evil because Nazi's killed Jews, it was evil because humans killed humans and denied each other rights. Therefore, Israel is not immune to criticism because it is a Jewish state. The wrongs one people commit against another are forever wrong, arbitrary cease fires that will resume in a few months is an assault against this basic idea.

  • Ron Paul

I would disagree with several points from the good doctor, and agree with several more (as is often the case with Ron Paul) I believe that liberals are very much against expanding the war, I also know that Obama actively campaigned to expand the war in Afghanistan and end the war in Iraq. I believe that when Obama decides to send more troops or expand the war in Afghanistan that the anti-war effort is going to backfire on Obama, I also know that the libertarian title is used by neo-conservatives to re-brand.

In the end though Dr. Paul makes the very logical and astute observation that it is strange Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, when he is still leading two wars.
  • Gabook

    Gabook

    Gabook was a word
    That could not be said
    Its meaning they feared
    Would bring too much dread
    To the reader and listener
    And public alike
Hysteria, panic, mass chaos would spike
    Gabook was a word
That was not to be read
For crying out loud, morals have fled
GABOOK! Here in this of all place!
A respectable man would hide his face!
    Gabook, Gabook, that dreaded word
To have such a thing, would be wrong, absurd!
So Gabook was censored, locked tight away
For a time, maybe years and perhaps a day,
When adults could read and hold in their head
The word Gabook, minus the dread.

  • A Simple Observation

For many the concept liberty is only defined as the right to carry a concealed weapon into a public place. This admittedly is better than the definition of morality which consists of four parts. The first is found in Genesis, and is basically a denouncement of evolution and a natural progression of hatred for academics. This is followed closely by a reading of Leviticus and a hatred for homosexuals. From there the moral trek travels to the Gospels and condemns everyone who disagrees with Christianity to hell. Then finally it is concluded with Revelations which gives people the opportunity to label any politician they disagree with as the “Anti-Christ” or any undesired public policy as the dreaded “one world government.”

This is the extent of liberty and morality to many. It is of course neither.
